Architectural NEW-built located in Mar Vista/Del Rey area in West Los Angeles. The Gilmore home sets out to manifest all of the elements and volumes of contemporary architecture. The entire structure has fine contrasts between the walls and the volumes, receding and jutting out in sections that characterize the edifice and contribute to its geometrical imprint. The choice of materials also has contrasts, with white textured vertical siding, and parts of dark smooth stucco. The house is also characterized by the use of interior/exterior spaces; glass sliding doors lead out onto the front balcony from the living area as well as in backyard. The result is an external continuation of the internal living area expanding both toward the front and back.
